My name is Joshua, I'm 14, I live in the UK and I consider myself to be a relatively politically minded young person.
Since December 2012 I've been a youth councillor for Thurrock, and in March 2013 I was elected Vice Chair of the Thurrock Youth Cabinet, a position I continue to hold until March 2016. I was a member of the Green Party for around two years but I left this year as a result of disagreeing with their policies and their General Election results. I have not joined another political party since then.
I'm honestly not too sure what my political alignment is, as I agree with some policies from right wing parties and I agree with plenty of others from left and centre parties. Since joining the Youth Cabinet however, I've always taken the view of whatever party offers what I believe is right or what is best for the majority of young people, so in a way I choose not to align with a party because of that.
